It is reported that the King wants a much closer relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

King Charles is understood to have a good relationship with Prince William's three children, but has reportedly not seen Prince Harry's two children since June 2022.

Could there be a major royal reunion in 2026? It's becoming more likely that the King and his son, Harry, will reunite - as the King urges Harry to bring his family back to the UK.

Prince Harry has said he will always be part of the Royal family, even though he is no longer a working royal. Speaking during a visit to Ukraine, he said he was doing what he was “born to do” by supporting important causes and drawing attention to humanitarian crises. Harry also called on world leaders to show real leadership over the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. The comments are likely to fuel more debate over his role, as he continues carrying out high-profile overseas visits without being an official working member of the monarchy.

New details have been released ahead of the King and Queen’s upcoming visit to the United States — a four-day tour set to combine diplomacy, remembrance, and cultural outreach.

Their Majesties will begin in Washington, D.C., where they’ll take part in a series of high-profile engagements. These include a ceremonial military review, as well as a tea party and garden party.

A major highlight will be the King’s private meeting with President Donald Trump, followed by a state dinner at the White House.

But the defining moment of the trip is expected to be the King’s address to Congress — a rare honour that will make him only the second British monarch to do so, underlining the strength of the UK–US relationship.

After many months of speculation, it’s been confirmed that King Charles will travel to the USA for an official State Visit, despite the critical words Donald Trump has uttered about the UK’s contribution to his conflict in Iran.

Buckingham Palace says the visit by both King Charles and Queen Camilla will take place at the end of April and will mark the 250th anniversary of American Independence.

It will involve a formal State Dinner at the White House and a historic address by the British monarch to both houses of Congress in Washington DC.

The last time that happened was in 1991 when Queen Elizabeth made a speech to Congress during her official state visit.

The Eyo Festival held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, is part of events lined up to mark Lagos @ 50.
One after the other, the Eyo dance groups come into Tafawa Balewa Square, the venue of the festival that showcases Lagos' cultural dance.

It was raining heavily, but the groups were not disturbed by the rain.

Broadcaster and multiple award-winning journalist Anike-Ade Funke Treasure says she dreams of a Lagos where visitors and tourists would be handed a copy of "White Lagos: A Definitive and Visual Guide to Eyo festival" as part of their cultural experiences of the city.

This she said at the public presentation of the book in July 2017, in the presence of the then Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr Steve Ayorinde.

The #EyoFestival is the cultural alter ego of Lagos, celebrated mainly in memory of a Lagosian who, while alive, contributed to the growth and development of the state. On another level, it is hosted to honour a highly placed visitor or to mark an important milestone, which is the case this time around.

“The Eyo day is always a day of pageantry and gaiety in #LagosIsland. The day is the climax of a series of events, which by tradition herald the advent of the play and has – on that day – Lagos Island agog with millions of spectators, watching resplendently dressed masquerades parading the major streets of #IsaleEko.

And though it is a day-long event that the public sees, the festival is actually preceded by many days of systematic preparations, planning and eventual performance, all involving the Isale Eko community of Lagos Island where the festival is domiciled, the Oba of Lagos, all the white-cap chiefs, heads of families and entire households within and outside the nation.

This is a documentary on the Eyo Adamu Orisha Festival, unique to Lagos Nigeria. The festival is essentially a farewell rite to deceased monarchs, or illustrious Lagosians. This documentary, made in the early 2000's, explains some of the more unknown facts and traditions surrounding the festival, and the culture of Lagosians.

As early as 5am, the people of Lagos Island wake up to the drums, songs and guttural sounds of the Eyo masquerades. It’s the most anticipated cultural event in Lagos, Nigeria- the Eyo festival.
The Adamu Orisa play or the Eyo festival is the final day of a week-long series of activities organized to celebrate the enthronement or death of an Oba (king) in Lagos or in memory of important personalities in the state.
About 70 Eyo groups- consisting of hundreds of dance and sing as they make their way through the streets of Lagos Island before their final parade at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS).
The eyo play has evolved since it was first staged more than three centuries ago. This year, the festival was a two- fold celebration. It was a commemoration of the life and times of Oba Yekini Adeniyi Elegushi, Kusenla II, of Ikate Kingdom and celebration of the 50th anniversary of Lagos state.
There are different versions of the history of the Eyo Lagos but many believe their procession through the streets sweep away evil and ensure prosperity for the city and its people.

Lagos Island burst into colour and tradition as the Eyo Festival 2025, also known as the Adamu Orisa Play, returned after an eight-year pause, drawing large crowds from across the city. The historic celebration, held on Lagos Island, paid tribute to four iconic figures whose legacies have shaped modern Lagos — Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, Lateef Jakande, Mobolaji Johnson, and Michael Otedola. Tall, white-clad Eyo masquerades moved through the streets in grand procession, their colourful hats symbolising lineage and group identity, while spectators observed age-long customs of respect.
