An amber extreme heat warning has been issued for eastern parts of England on Thursday. This afternoon, thicker cloud and outbreaks of light rain in northern Scotland but dry elsewhere with sunny spells as temperatures begin to rise for most. It will be slightly cooler along the east coast, with temperatures limited to low twenties and similar figures across Northern Ireland and Scotland. Temperatures across Wales and the West country could reach 29 – 30 ̊C.
