The World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to provide an update on COVID-19 a day after Japan reported two former passengers from the Diamond Princess cruise ship died from the virus.

The two elderly passengers had been taken off the ship because they were infected with the virus. They were the first fatalities from the virus-stricken vessel.

China has confirmed there were 394 new confirmed cases, down sharply from the 1,749 reported just a day earlier.
