Lagos Island burst into colour and tradition as the Eyo Festival 2025, also known as the Adamu Orisa Play, returned after an eight-year pause, drawing large crowds from across the city. The historic celebration, held on Lagos Island, paid tribute to four iconic figures whose legacies have shaped modern Lagos — Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, Lateef Jakande, Mobolaji Johnson, and Michael Otedola. Tall, white-clad Eyo masquerades moved through the streets in grand procession, their colourful hats symbolising lineage and group identity, while spectators observed age-long customs of respect.
