The government has announced a sweeping crackdown on tech firms to protect children from illegal content.

Speaking to Sky News, work and pensions secretary Liz Kendall says: "We need to make sure that anything children see online is safe".

She adds: "And as the [technology] is changing so quickly, we've got to act more quickly. And that's what we're announcing today."
