H2O Part Two
H20, a two part Canadian political thriller set in Canada sometime in the early 2000's during the post 9/11 era, opens with the Prime Minister of Canada dying in a suspicious canoeing accident in Quebec. His son Tom McLaughlin (Paul Gross) becomes Prime Minister and after an investigation into his father's death reveals it was an assassination, invokes the Emergencies Act.
As a rapidly changing climate induces a severe drought in the United States, PM McLaughlin accepts the U.S. President's plan to develop the Great Recycling and Northern Development Canal to help the United States with its water shortage. RCMP officer Sgt. Leah Collins and Member of Parliament Marc Lavigne slowly piece together evidence of a vast conspiracy that threatens Canada's very existence as a sovereign nation.
