The young mermaid princess Merlinda sets out on a journey with her friends Sasha and Nerissa to save the underwater kingdom of Mertropia and her father, King Seaford. Merlinda must retrieve the mythical Pearls of Neptune, which are the source of her world’s life and magic, following a map left by her long-lost mother, Queen Corelia. But with the city blockaded by the evil pirate Barbarossa and his army of Sea Monsters, escape is nearly impossible.
