From Iceland's erupting lava fields to the melting glaciers of the Arctic – this documentary shows the raw power of Earth's two most extreme forces and the wildlife caught between them.

Iceland sits on the mid-Atlantic ridge, where two tectonic plates grind against each other. Africa's Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano creates some of the richest soils on Earth, feeding millions of wildebeest. Yellowstone's supervolcano keeps bison warm in brutal winters – but slowly grinds down their teeth. Japan's snow monkeys survive freezing temperatures between Mount Fuji's iconic peak and Mount Sakurajima's constant eruptions.

In the Arctic, polar bears swim hundreds of kilometers as sea ice disappears. Greenland sharks hunt beneath the ice – some believed to be hundreds of years old. And as permafrost thaws across the tundra, it releases carbon that's been trapped for thousands of years.
Greenland's ice alone could raise global sea levels by 7 meters. But the same forces that threaten our world might also help save it – 92% of homes in Iceland already run on geothermal energy.
