Syria's shaky ceasefire: Day one marked with accusations of violations
A four-day ceasefire between the Syrian government and the Kurdish-led SDF was meant to cool tensions. Instead, day one was marked by fresh violence and competing claims of violations. As government forces tried to consolidate newly captured territory and both sides accused each other of carrying out attacks, Damascus is finding that, securing a ceasefire is far messier than declaring it.
