US Clarifies: Nigeria’s Insecurity Not Religious – Trump’s Advisor Meets Tinubu in Rome
.
.
The United States has reaffirmed its position on Nigeria’s insecurity challenges, stating clearly that terrorism and banditry in the country are not religious issues, but global threats requiring international cooperation.
In a strategic meeting held in Rome, Italy, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met behind closed doors with Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to former U.S. President Donald Trump for Arab and African Affairs. Discussions focused on counter-terrorism, maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea, and collaboration in intelligence and technology sharing.
Responding to concerns raised by a U.S. lawmaker on alleged religious persecution in Nigeria, Boulos emphasized that the real issue is terrorism, not religion, and commended the Tinubu-led administration for its ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability across the nation.
