Andy Burnham has used his Labour Party conference speech to outline sweeping plans for housing, water, energy, social care, pensions, electoral reform and Britain’s relationship with the European Union.
However, major questions remain over whether the proposals are affordable, how they would be delivered and whether Burnham has a democratic mandate to implement them.
Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice MP joins Charlie Rowley to discuss this, branding the proposals a “direct assault on pensioners and savers."
Mr Tice warns that workers will be “absolutely fleeced” by higher taxes and accuses Mr Burnham of offering little more than “babble and waffle” without explaining how his costly promises would be delivered.
