Alex Phillips and James Price discuss Suella Braverman’s declaration that Reform UK will not enter an electoral pact with the Conservatives or Rupert Lowe’s Restore Britain.

Alex argues that Reform has no reason to work with a Conservative Party that had years in government to implement right-wing policies but failed to do so. She suggests the Tories should focus on fighting the Liberal Democrats in southern seats while Reform challenges Labour in traditional Red Wall constituencies.

James warns that Reform and the Conservatives have “never felt further apart” because of personal rivalries, despite moving closer together on policies including immigration and the ECHR. He describes the prospect of Britain being denied a right-wing government because party leaders cannot work together as “an absolute tragedy”.
