A touching and at the same time painful story, based on the real events of the life of Stephen Klakovitz. At the age of five, he was given to a foster family, where for the next eleven years he suffered cruel psychological and physical abuse from the named parents Betty and Willie, as well as their children. Lonely and broken, the boy desperately wanted to find at least a crumb of love and a real home. He was tormented by questions of origin: why, African-American in appearance, he bears the surname Klakovitz, and why the system cannot help find his biological parents? Despite the pain, humiliation and despair, he develops strength and determination to change his own fate. This is a story about the struggle for the right to be yourself, about the indomitability of spirit and the belief that even in the darkest times there is a chance to find your place in the world.
