June 12, has no doubt, become an unforgettable date in Nigeria, as it has many significance for our past, our present, and our future.
28 years after the late MKO Abiola declared himself President of Nigeria in Epetedo, Lagos, to reclaim his June 12, 1993 mandate, the area has become part of Nigeria’s democratic struggle, that people throng to celebrate.
As part of activities to mark the 2022 Democracy Day, activists gathered at the location where Abiola made the famous Epetedo Declaration that led to his incarceration in 1994 and ultimate death in 1998.
