The story is set in the future world of 2563 in the 26th century, 300 years after a catastrophic interstellar war called the "Fallen War" destroyed the earth, and the people who lived on the earth were ruled by the air city "Sarem".


One day, scientist Dr. Dyson Id was looking for parts in a huge scrap iron yard in Steel City when he found a female robot with a mutilated but still alive and complete head. Dr. Yide fitted that head to the body of a new cyborg and named it "Elita" after his late daughter. Ailita who has received a new life is just like the late Aelita in appearance and power, but she knows nothing about her past, and at the same time, she knows her ex-wife Dr. Qianren, who has little contact with Dr. Ide, and Hugo, who dreams of moving to the wealthy sky city of "Sarem".

After meeting Elita, Hugo introduces her to Motorball, a battle royale motorsport in which cyborgs participate. Hugo snatches some parts of the other robots behind his back for the organizer of the Deathball tournament and the de facto owner of the Steel City management body factory. With her fighting potential, Aelita is searching for her past, and who is her? Aelita embarks on her own journey and has to contend with a succession of synth-based enemies.


Hong Kong translation "Dream of Battle", Taiwanese translation of "Battle Angel") is an American cyberpunk sci-fi action film released in 2019, based on the OVA of the same name in the manga "Dream of Battle" created by Japanese manga artist Yukito Kijo.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez, James Cameron co-wrote the script with Rita Karogridis and produced by Cameron. The film stars Rosa Salazar as the cyborg Alita, who wakes up in a new body, knows nothing about her past, is reborn and begins to face incoming enemies one after another, so she sets out to find her destiny. Other cast members of the film include Christopher Waltz, Jennifer Connery, Mahsiala Ali, Ed Skrine, Michelle Rodriguez, Jackie Earl Haley and Kian Johnson & Johnson.

Filming was announced in 2003, but production was initially delayed due to Cameron's busy work on Avatar (2009) and its sequel. After years of difficult development, Robert Rodriguez was appointed director of the film in April 2016, while Rosa Salazar was hired as the lead actress the following month. Subject-shoot began on October 17, 2016 in Austin, Texas, primarily at Troublemaker Studio, and continued until February 2017.

Produced and distributed by Twentieth Century Fox, Alita: Battle Angel had its world premiere at the Audian Cinema in Leicester Square on January 31, 2019, and in 3D in the United States on February 14, 2019 at RealD Cinemas, Dolby Cinemas and IAX. The film is the first film produced by Light and Shadow Storm Entertainment after "Avatar". The film grossed over $404 million worldwide, making it Rory Gertz's highest-grossing film, but according to media reports, the film still lost at least $53 million [7]. The film received mixed reviews from critics , who praised Salazar's performance , action scenes , and visual effects , but criticized the script.

Since the film's producer, Twentieth Century Fox, was acquired by The Walt Disney Company nearly a month after the film's release, and Fox's distribution department was later incorporated under the Disney umbrella, making the film the last film released by Fox.
