Bio:
Eric Carter Chu, aka blksoap, is a LA-born, Bay Area-based community leader. A DJ, radio host, and educator, he's also the co-founder and creative director of Soul Source LA, and has played a pivotal role in shaping LA's current underground dance music culture. Additionally, he's the co-founder of Textures, an avant-garde dance session from Oakland that blends sound and visuals to evoke dimension and emotional tone to expand dancers toward uncharted spaces in their movement.
For over a decade, blksoap has leveraged his diverse musical tastes and vision to build bridges between LA, the Bay, Hawaii, and Asia. His deep selections and global perspective have earned him a reputation for having some of the most eclectic crates in the game. He's performed at Coachella nd shared stages with artists like Karimza, Waajeed, Jael, and Mark de Clive Lowe as well as collectives like Soulection, the Beat Junkies, and the Funk Freaks.
