Nick Halsey (Will Ferrell) is no longer wanted. First he loses his job after 17 years, then his wife literally throws him out the door along with his belongings. But instead of sneaking away, Nick simply settles down in his favourite chair in front of the house with a few six-packs of beer. His best friend advises him to start a clearance sale in the front yard. But when Nick is asked to part with his old stuff, he realizes a few things that lead to new opportunities.
