Immigration arrests may be getting less media attention lately, but they haven't slowed down.

More than 80% of cases now end in deportation, and Cook County has the second-highest number of pending deportation cases in the country.

One of those cases belongs to Dayton Lindsay, a Jamaican-born green card holder who has lived in the United States for 30 years. His story shows how even legal permanent residents — roughly 13 million people nationwide — are facing an immigration system that has grown far less forgiving.
