I Watched the Lucy Letby Netflix Documentary So You Don’t Have To

I watched the Netflix documentary The Investigation of Lucy Letby — and if you’re already familiar with the case, it’s a long, disappointing watch that adds very little.

For the first hour, it feels like an extension of the prosecution case, complete with voyeuristic arrest footage, selective editing, and police interviews that raise more questions than they answer. Only in the final section does the documentary awkwardly attempt to introduce doubt — and by then, it’s far too late.

Cheshire Police granted “unparalleled and exclusive access” shortly after the conviction, but as new information and growing doubt emerged, the narrative appears to have shifted, leaving behind a confused, structurally weak film that satisfies no one.
