Billionaire developer Rupert King buys Hart Island, a burial site for the unclaimed dead since 1869. He plans to build the “City of Hope,” but when a group—including a detective, inmates, workers, and an assistant—arrives, they are attacked by swarms of deadly flies. The assistant’s body is soon found decomposed and filled with maggots, and the survivors must fight to escape the island alive.
