Publicado en 16 Dec 2019 / En

In this video, Kristen L. Eckstrand, MD, PhD, Co-Chair, of the AAMC Advisory Committee on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Sex Development, interviews Carl G. Streed, MD and Ed Callahan, PhD, on the opportunities available for members of the academic medicine community to engage in LGBT health care advocacy at the institutional, local, and national levels. During this conversation, they discuss the need for explicit action in order to address the historic silence around LGBT health in academic medicine, how taking action can help mitigate health disparities faced by sexual and gender minorities, and how residency programs can collaborate to advocate for improved health care for our nation's diverse population.
