When a police officer is murdered, the captain turns to Mr. Wong to catch the killer. The prime suspect is Frank Belden Jr., whose father is a businessman known as much for his success as for his dishonesty. As the investigation unfolds into betrayal and complexity, Mr. Wong finds himself in growing danger and narrowly escapes being killed. Following the trail of bodies, he uncovers a jewel-smuggling ring operating along the San Francisco waterfront — and a case far bigger than the death of a single police officer.
