I've been a cardiac ICU nurse for 16 years, and I thought I understood the clear boundary between life and death. Arthur Kellerman was a 67-year-old retired engineer recovering from routine aneurysm repair surgery. He was scheduled for discharge in two days when his heart suddenly developed dangerous rhythms.
