Nigerian Old National Anthem....
The Old Nigerian National Anthem, officially adopted in 1960 following the country’s independence from British colonial rule, is a poignant reflection of Nigeria’s hopes and aspirations during its formative years as a sovereign nation.
Written by Lillian Jean Williams and composed by Frances Berda, the anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” encapsulates a deep sense of national pride and unity. Its lyrics resonate with themes of patriotism, peace, and collective effort, seeking to inspire Nigerians to uphold the nation’s honor and strive towards a brighter future. The anthem served as a rallying cry for a newly independent nation, symbolizing the beginning of a journey towards self-determination and national identity.
