.
.
According to figures from the World Food Programme, 4.3 million people in Nigeria’s Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states are at risk of serious famine. Chronic insecurity linked to ISWAP (the West African branch of the Islamic State) is preventing many people in the north-east from growing the food they need or earning an income. Our team in Nigeria went to Monguno in Borno State, a few kilometres from Lake Chad. Over the last ten years, this town has been the target of massive attacks by Boko Haram and then ISWAP.
