The New South Wales government has increased land tax on those who own a holiday house or a property through a company, says Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

He says this is as part of an effort to “kick-start home building”.

“Some of the money will be used to create financial guarantees for property developers or even to pre-purchase homes – in an effort to kick-start home building,” Mr Greenwood said.
