The 2020 psychological thriller movie Run is about a disabled teenager named Chloe Sherman and her devious mother, Diane, who has kept her isolated and secretly drugged her for years. When Chloe uncovers the horrifying truth of her captivity, she must fight to escape.

Plot Overview

THE SETUP: Chloe uses a wheelchair, has multiple chronic conditions, and is homeschooled by Diane while waiting for college acceptance letters.

THE DISCOVERY: Chloe notices odd behavior, finds a hidden medication label meant for animals prescribed in her mother's name, and realizes she isn't actually sick because of her mother.

THE DARK SECRET: Diane lost her newborn baby years ago and kidnapped Chloe as an infant, intentionally faking and inducing her medical issues to keep her dependent.

THE CLIMAX & TWIST: After a tense cat-and-mouse escape attempt and a time jump, the final twist reveals Chloe visiting a now-impaired Diane in a facility, feeding her the very same green pills.
