Storm Boelo battered Scotland and northern England on Sunday, October 25, 2026, bringing hurricane-force wind gusts, flooding, widespread power cuts and major travel disruption across the United Kingdom. The storm followed Storm Austen, which struck southern Britain on Friday, leaving hundreds of properties without electricity before the next system arrived.
In Scotland, gusts reached 82 mph on the Isle of Tiree, while coastal communities including Saltcoats experienced overnight flooding. Heavy rainfall triggered flood warnings and alerts across Scotland and England, with additional rain affecting Wales and other parts of southern Britain.
