I think clinicians, doctors have all kinds of preconceived notions about what people are willing to talk about. But when you ask patients, patients expect their doctor to ask them about everything. You ask them when their last bowel movement was. Asking someone about their sexual preference isn’t a whole lot more sensitive a topic to patients.

And in fact, lots of patients have questions about their sexual health, and so they welcome the opportunity to ask those questions of their provider.
