Former Nato secretary general and Labour peer Lord George Robertson has said the UK’s security is “in peril” and warned of “a corrosive complacency today in Britain’s leadership”.

Speaking to Vicki Young on BBC Two’s Politics Live, Labour MP Antonia Bance disagreed with Robertson’s opinion that "We cannot defend Britain with an ever-expanding welfare budget."

Reform UK’s Laila Cunningham and Conservative MP Saqib Bhatti joined the discussion.
