After a jury finds him not guilty of kidnapping and attempted murder, the mentally disturbed Dr. Albert Beck vows to rehabilitate himself with medication. He lands a teaching job at an Arizona medical school, where he immediately develops a crush on a beautiful medical student, Melissa, who greatly admires him. As Dr. Beck struggles to deny his feelings for Melissa, students learn about his dangerous past and petition the school to fire him. This causes Melissa to defend, and ultimately fall in love, with him. Immediately following a blissful night of lovemaking, Dr. Beck and Melissa are attacked by one of Dr. Beck’s former victims, who is out for lethal vengeance. When the cops choose not to believe their story, Dr. Beck and Melissa realize they are without police protection. With their assailant vowing not to stop until they are both dead, Melissa convinces Dr. Beck to join her in a plan to kill their assailant before they are attacked again.
