The Unseen
The Unseen is a 1945 American film noir mystery film directed by Lewis Allen and starring Joel McCrea. It's based on the 1942 novel Midnight House (US title: Her Heart in Her Throat) by Ethel Lina White.
In this sequel to "The Uninvited," David Fielding (Joel McCrea), who has recently lost his wife, moves into a new neighborhood under a cloud of suspicion. Many feel that his wife's death in a car crash was no accident. Elizabeth Howard (Gail Russell), the governess he hires to look after his children, makes it her mission to find out the truth.
