At least 12 people have been killed and more than 100 wounded in Russian strikes across Ukraine over the past 24 hours. In central Kyiv, at least one person was killed when a jet-powered drone struck a building belonging to the National Academy of Sciences.

This comes as attacks continue to raise fears among civilians in frontline cities such as Zaporizhzhia, where some mothers now carry drone detectors while out with their children. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says Moscow is showing little interest in peace talks, following comments by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about recent diplomatic discussions.

In Russian-occupied Oleshky, Ukrainian forces delivered four tons of food and medical supplies by drone to thousands of residents facing severe shortages.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces say they have recaptured 51 square kilometers and five settlements in northern Donetsk, bringing their reported gains under Operation Vivaldi to 176 square kilometers.
