The proposal demands a permanent end to the war, security guarantees from the United States and Israel, lifting of sanctions, and an end to Israeli strikes in Lebanon. In return, Iran has offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz on condition that traffic be regulated and that it reportedly charge $2 million per ship. US President Donald Trump described the proposal as significant but insufficient. He has also set a deadline for compliance, warning of possible strikes. A separate US 15-point proposal has also been rejected by Iran earlier.
