Andy Burnham has vowed to end the existing state pension triple lock in 2030 to help fund a new national care service.
Pensions would still rise by at least inflation or 2.5%, but the automatic link to average earnings would be removed. Burnham also backed greater public control of water, housing and energy, closer UK-EU ties and electoral reform.
