???? ABOUT THE FILM
Based on real-life federal witness protection stories, Witness Protection (1999) follows a Boston crime family’s accountant, Bobby Batton (Tom Sizemore), who chooses to testify against his mob partners after a deal goes bad. With his wife (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) and children forced to abandon their identities and relocate, the Battons are thrust into a new life — one that’s far from safe.
Their handler, U.S. Marshal Steve Beck (played by Forest Whitaker), becomes their reluctant guardian and moral compass, guiding them through the treacherous transition from luxury to anonymity. But when old habits die hard, and new enemies close in, survival means learning to live with the consequences of truth.
