Hello Darlin’ is an award-winning British independent crime drama feature film, winner of Best Overall Film at the 2019 Birmingham Film Festival, with its US Premiere held at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
The film centres on Les Dalton, an ex-paratrooper and career criminal newly released on parole after serving nine years for a high-profile armed robbery. The crime made headlines — not just for its audacity, but for the mystery that followed. A cache of gold was never recovered, and many believe Les knows exactly where it is. Les, however, maintains there was never any missing gold at all.
As he attempts to rebuild his life, Les finds freedom comes with strings attached. His estranged daughter keeps him at arm’s length, his ex-wife remains wary, and a retired detective who once hunted him down refuses to let the past stay buried. Under constant suspicion, Les must navigate a world that expects him to fail — or confess.
Amid the tension, an unexpected friendship with his neighbour Aanya offers moments of warmth and humanity, challenging Les to confront who he was, who he is, and who he still might become.
