‘I’m crying in pain’: Abuse survivor’s plea to Disability Royal Commission. The government has announced it will set up a taskforce to assess the 222 recommendations made by the Disability Royal Commission, after a four-and-a-half-year investigation revealed the alarming extent of abuse, neglect and discrimination experienced by disabled Australians.
Here, disability advocate and witness @akii_ngo says living with the trauma of domestic violence and a range of disabilities is deeply personal, but sharing the story with the disability royal commission was something they knew they had to do.
