Iran's Foreign Minister, at the United Nations in New York, says mediators have submitted a new plan to the White House, that would pave the way for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen within a week.

The Strait is a key waterway through which twenty percent of the world's oil supplies passed, before the war. Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that talks with the US on other issues, including Iran's nuclear programme, would start afterwards.
