Ivory Coast owes its position as the world’s top cocoa producer and the wealthiest nation in West Africa to the determination and vitality of its young population. Yet, outdated infrastructure continues to hinder the cocoa industry, making life difficult for farmers. As cocoa profits dwindle, some individuals have shifted their focus to gold mining, clearing trees in search of the precious resource. These miners face numerous perils, but their resolve drives them to take significant risks, hoping that even a small amount of gold can bring a better future.
