Elin, a single mother facing the ultimate nightmare when her young son drowns during an outing. In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, Elin tries to stay strong for her remaining child, a ten-year-old girl named Storm. Together, mother and daughter attempt to pick up the pieces of their broken lives and find a way to move forward from the grief. However, peace is short-lived. Soon, unsettling rumors begin to circulate around their small, tight-knit town. Classmates and neighbors start whispering about the circumstances of the drowning, and shocking accusations emerge, suggesting that Storm was not just a witness, but the one who pushed her brother to his death. As the community turns against them and the school system becomes involved, Elin finds herself isolated.
